It uses autotrace -centerline and an optimal threshold to vectorize a pixel image. The builtin inkscape trace bitmap can only trace edges, thus resulting in double lines for most basic use cases. I guess then when I compared my output, vs. A bitmap vectorizer that can trace along the centerline of a stroke. In terms of creating my dxf format files, I literally followed a couple of tutorials on youtube, so wasn't sure what the correct output should be like. I give the above example, as the bandana image is from a similar style shop, who's artwork I purchased to get a feel for file types / sizes / quality etc. I'd noticed the vast majority of similar sellers to myself offer the dxf format, which is not something I've ever used myself, but am keen to offer to potential customers. I do my 2D drawing with LibreOffice 4.3 Draw which I think is better than InkScape and which can export SVG files that Inkscape can use. I know nothing about SolidWorks and I have never put in the time to learn proper 2D Cad, never mind 3D. but i have not found a way to generate GRBL code from there. I have an old version of SolidWorks that was given to me due to it being outdated. ![]()
